Would like to hear from someone about the development of symptoms related to this cancer. I know that stomach pain is the beginning because I am now there. However, since it has not spread beyond the pancreas I am uncertain what lies ahead. Information from anyone that has had this for several years would be appreciated. Five weeks of radiation is planned using IMRT. Thank you.

Jerrette, I am very sorry about your cancer... I assume you have cancer since therapy has already been planed. What grade is it?

Pancreatic cancer is one of the most aggressive cancers so it needs to be treated aggressively. Talk with you medical team about the need for chemotherapy. Doctor's will often not want to use chemotherapy on low grade cancers reserving that for later.

As for the progression, it really depend on if it metastasizes and to what other organs. If it has not spread beyond the Pancreas, you might be able to surgically remove then cancer. That would be ideal.
