Oh lexi, I am very sorry about your father's Prostate Cancer. I so wish that he had not ignored such a high PSA. But that was his choice and who knows, his choice might have been the "right" choice... at least it was right for him at that time.

Your father's advanced age probably is working against him. Is he in otherwise good health? If so, he might tolerate chemotherapy rather well. Radiation can be used palliatively to reduce pain cause be the bone mets.

Finally, Sloan Kettering has an excellent Oncology Department with an outstanding reputation for treating Prostate Cancer. He will get some of the best advice in the world from his medical team there.

Your father is in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm sorry to hear about your father.

Jim is right--Memorial Sloan Kettering is an excellent choice. Whatever can be done for him, WILL be done for him, I'm sure. Possibilities include advanced pain management, hormone therapy, chemotherapy, and spot radiation to the bones which can reduce tumors and relieve pain.

No one can tell you a definite life expectancy, but the doctors at Sloan Kettering should be able to give you a rough idea.

Best wishes.
