Novel Diagnostic & Prognostic Markers & Therapeutic Targets for melanoma (JHU Ref 4578)

http://www.ltd.jhu.edu/explore_inventions/index.html?MSID=714&JCatName=BS2,BS3&Show=Detail

Found this on Johns Hopkins University website. I have looked at what is available for checking the blood markers in melanoma. I haven't found anything else except ones being tested.

My question is, is there a way to check the blood for melanoma.

Hi Jotto. That article has the answer to your question in it:

"There are no tests to accurately predict patient outcome for early stage disease and no blood tests that readily indicate disease recurrence/progression."

Hopefully, they will have good results with their research.

Jim,

Yes it does, but as always the article was from 2004. I have written Johns Hopkins on the subject, except I sent it to the wrong person. So I will try again and hopefully get with the right department this time.

Most major research centers have a department that coordinates and approves research projects. You might try to contact their Institutional Review Board. Other centers have a department called the Intellectual Properties Department. They coordinate research once it is available for sale to other companies for further studies. Hopefully, one of those can help you find the information you are looking for.

Continue to keep us informed. I for one would really like to know the answer.
