Tony
I hope the surgery on the 21st goes well - let us know how you get on.
After that you can get mixing with that sterile water and the Leukine.

Hey Euan
Thinking about getting a permanent room at the hospital. You know, kind've like a vacation home. Only thing stopping me is that the fishing sucks, can't really get any rest, and waaay to many tourists.

Got home from the hospital last night.
Had my lymph node dissection of the left pelvic and abdominal region. They ended up having to go a little higher than they initially thought.
This ones going to leave a Super Sexy scar!!! Got the twisted/stapled Frankenstein "look" going.
Have a JP drain tube that comes out just below my lowest left rib.
Currently not feeling too bad. The first 2 days we're the worst.
Glad to be home.
The hospital staff did a good job of taking care of me, but, there's no bed like your own bed. _________________ ****Kick'n Cancers Arse Since April 2007**** |

Tony, glad to hear that everything went well. Let us know what the pathology report says.
I have a big dent in my head from my surgeries and biopsies so I look a little deformed myself. Fortunately, I am too tall for most people to notice . _________________ Jim

Yep, will do on the pathology reports.
Almost forgot to mention. I had the most incredible muffin at the hospital.
Cranberry lemon.
I'm talking really tasty muffin. Never tasted anything like it.
Do know when I get to moving around a little easier, I'm hunting me down some more of those
muffins
How often do you hear someone say something good about hospital food? _________________ ****Kick'n Cancers Arse Since April 2007**** |

Hi Tony
Just stopped by to see how the surgery went - glad to hear that you are out of hospital and on the road to recovering from that.
Cheers

Hey Euan
How you been? Is momma starting to show yet?
Things have been going alright for me. Had a doctors appointment today and the pathology from my last surgery looks good. They also removed the drain and about half (20) or so staples. I get the rest out next week.
Out of the 12 lymph nodes they removed only the 1 they initially went in for tested positive. Woo Hoo!!!!! I think we're getting ahead of this stuff.
Talk to everyone later.

Well I went in today and had the rest of my staples removed from my abdomin. Glad to see the staples go, were starting to ich like crazy!!!!!!!
Good news, I don't have to see the surgical oncologist for 3 months.
It's been a while since I've gone without seeing him weekly or bi-weekly.
Bad news the Radiology guys are ready to get going again. Not sure about having the radiation treatment anymore. They say there is a risk of permanent swelling in my leg due to the radiation.
I already have a little swelling in that leg because of all the lymph node dissections I've had done. I would prefer not to have to start wearing a compression sock all the time.
It just seems to me that because its never came back in the same area that I might not benefit from radiation treatment. Not to mention the risk of even MORE leg swelling.
I don't know, I've got some thinking to do.
Next step Leukine treatment. I find out more and think I start that next week.
Best of luck to everyone, and hang in there. _________________ ****Kick'n Cancers Arse Since April 2007**** |

Well, just got back from the emergency room.
I guess 2 weeks and 3 days was TOO soon to get back to physical activity.
Sun came out today and decided to putter around the yard. Bad idea.
Top 3-4 inches of my abdominal wound ripped open.
Had to go in and have a new "zipper" put in to close the wound.
I've personally seen more of my insides than I ever wanted to.
Word to the wise, if they say take it easy, they mean take it easy.
Live and learn. _________________ ****Kick'n Cancers Arse Since April 2007**** |

Hey Jim
Thanks man, that made me LOL
