Just a general question pertaining to biopsy statistics:

If the average dermatologist remvoes 100 moles due to suspicion of melanoma, in practice, what percentage have been turing out to be "hits"? I understand that this information cannot be used to self diagnose. I'm merely curious as to the safety factor that is built into the system. Thanks.

Larry, I really do not know the answer to your question. I would guess that a majority would turn out to be benign moles since dermatologist do send off any moles or skin lessons they remove.
