Hey everyone,

Can anyone comment on night sweats?
I have never had this before, the whole 6 weeks of rad/chemo I did not experience them. Finished the treatment last Wednesday and I have been having night sweats since last Friday. They seem to be getting worse, last night I woke up soaked and cold 3x, but no fever.

what is going on?

thanks gang

DulcimerGal, if your name is any indication, you are a woman, right? Could it be menopause?

Of course, there are cancers that do cause night sweats. However, I am not sure if Colorectal cancer do. You should ask your own medical team.

HA!

Thanks Brainman for answering - yes - good catch on my sex given my online name!! I'm glad to say that I am done with menopause!!! Did indeed call my medical team this morning, they made me come right down for more Vampire work, and put me on another antibiotic. They said the tumour itself can cause the nite sweats but also it could be an infection (again!) or even a urinary tract infection so they took urine samples too. Also - could have developed an abscess - that is another possibility. I have to take my temp regulary and keep a log for the next few days too.

Of course growing blood cultures can take a few days, so will have to wait and see. My white blood counts are low, and I am anemic, so they pretty much told me to improve my diet too.

I know what low white blood cells and being anemic are like. I was hospitalized twice due to pneumonia and overall weakness while I was on chemotherapy.
