Vague mass (not very deep, quite near skin) in abdomen to the left and upper left of the navel, somewhat tender when pressed. Also when standing up from sitting position feel as if there's some growth inside in that area. Also slight pain when pressing the area below the left rib.
Several weeks ago there was a *very* tender spot above the navel, lasting 3-4 days (maybe longer because didn't know when it started, only found out accidentally). Now that spot is not tender any more.
What kind of doctor should I see? -What specialty? Any opinions on what this might be are also welcome. (Could it be sarcoma, since it seems near the skin and not so concentrated area?)
Thank you! |

Kelly, I agree with Brainman.
Go o your GP and they will lead you into the right direction. Explain how worried you've been and ask alot of questions and give alot of information.
Worst comes to worst ask to see a specialist. (most likely the will send you to a dermatologist-or- skin specialist first, and go from there. _________________ Thinking of you Inica

Hi ChemoMan, thanks for your messages here! I don't think it's a hernia because I read about what hernia is like and they don't sound like my case. This is probably something more serious I'm afraid. I had ultrasound which found nothing wrong, but the masses start to hurt more now...
Oh to add: it seems as if some lump has moved around in my abdomen?! Initially the tender spot/mass was right above the belly button, but now that area is somewhat back to normal, and instead two symmetric masses to the left/right of the belly button are hurting now. This is such a mystery to me. |
