Although my prostate cancer has been treated I have had to have reconstructive surgery for a grid malfunction that caused serious frostbite to my perineum. The equipment manufacturer blamed the surgeon. The cryo equipment is operated by technicians, the surgeon places the probes and depends on the tech to make sure the equipment is used in the proper manner.

I have injuries that are permanent and will affect my quality of life from now on. The manufacturer claims no blame. There are two other incidents that I am aware of. There is no reason for others suffering from this injury. I have filed a Med Watch report with the FDA but do not expect them to do anything.

I would like to get this message out and stop this from happening to anyone else. I also would like to hear of anyone else that has had any frostbite or burns from this procedure.
I am a strong believer in Cryoablation. It is a great treatment option if the frostbite/burns are avoided.

Please get in touch with any questions.

Kind regards,
