| I have had a lump above my right knee for over 2 years now. Its remain about the same size for that time (approx .75 cm) and was just a flesh kinda color. In hte last month or so it has doubled in size and changed color from flesh to dark pink - red with no pain...well at the lumo. I have been getting episodes of pain in my knee lately. Also for the last year i have had no appetite, fatigue, no energy, sleepy, and have a rash that started on my back and no has been spreadin gover my whole torso on going down my arms and up my neck. That hasn't responded to any steriod cream that I tried so far. I am going to the doctor this month to get it looked at, but starting to get worried that it may be cancer. I have been doing alot of research into differnet types of skin and soft tissue cancers and alot of the symptons are matching and pictures of lumps are similar to the one on above my knee. If anyone has any info or went through this before can you provided some more info for me. I am 24 and have a lot of cancer in my family. Also to I had a bad sun burn lst month and have been getting alot of dark freckles on my body and the ones i had before seen to have grown alittle. Also i know have quite a few cherry red freckles starting on my arms. Can someone tell me if I am jus tbeing parnoid of all this and its nothing to worry about or if this may be a good chance its cancer? |

Hi and welcome,
I'm glad you are having the knee looked at soon. Please don't try and self-diagnose the condition -- I know, it's the internet age and we all tend to be guilty of that.
As far as the rash, what color is it? A typical pink/red rash? If you had a sunburn, that could have caused a reaction. As for freckles, some skin types naturally freckle when tanned or exposed to sun. I never knew I could have freckles until I was in my early thirties and stupidly did a lot of tanning. Freckles popped up all over my arms.
Good luck and let us know how the doctor's visit goes.

| Well the rash has been spreading for approx 11 months. Its kinda a reddish-brownish color. It started last year when i was getting several sinus infections and was put on amoxil...after my third doses the rash appeared and i stopepd the meds...its faded for a few weeks and the reappeared has been spreading since. It gets really itching once and awhile. but thanks for the info on the lump and freckles:) |

Hi nblpn. I am sorry about your health concerns. There are so many things that can cause lumps and I have never heard of a cancer that causes a rash so I would but "cancer" on a back burner for now and look into the possibilities of an infection or allergic reaction of some kind. It is still something that you need to have evaluated by your own doctor.
Best wishes. _________________ Jim

I did read of a case of "Unusual Soft Tissue Metastais of and Invasive Lobular Carcinome mimicking Fascitis" a few years ago.
Just as background
I had a spot in my breast that "felt strange" for 8 years. I had regular mams and on the 8 th year I said I KNOW it's there I WANT an ultrasound today as well. And sure enough and invasive lobular cancer was right where I had pointed to for 8 years... What would have happened if I caught is earlier - or later? One never knows.
Check it out...may it just be something easy and "friendly" |

| Well, honestly, if you have had cancer that metastastized for over 2 years now, you probably would have much bigger symptoms by now. It could just be a cyst. You should definitely get a biopsy on it done. |
