because of the limited number of proton knife in america, it is not commonly used for treatment for recurrence of prostate cancer.

for more details about proton knife and cryosurgery.

Hi, my PSA was 4.4 in December 1993, I was 65 years old. I had 64 seeds planted. Then 11 years later in December 2004 my PC reoccurred.
I then had cryosurgery operation. If you have any questions, please contact me. _________________ I had prostate cancer with PSA of 4.4 11 years ago and had seeds planted. Now 11 years later I have a PSA of 6.6 and a biopsy showed cancer. In January 2005 I had cryosurgery. I am 77. |

My firend, 73, who died of Prostate cancer , had seeds put in 3 years ago. When cancer was spreading his doc told him once the seeds are in
he can not remove the prostate by surgery. Is this true?? _________________ ANIL |

Not true in my case. I cannot understand why your friend's doctor said that.
When my doctor and I decided a type of operation we decided on cryosurgery, and I told him I had seeds planted 11 years ago, he was glad that I told him that. I asked why and he said that I would have scar tissue that he would have to go around, but other than that, it was OK. Three months after my operation, my PSA was .05.
With my cryosurgery, my doctor used 20 probes, that's what he said, that's hard to believe. As you probably know, with the probes they freeze and thaw the prostate. I only had one whole poke in my stomach, I can imagine where other probes went.

hi russemartin
Nice to hear from you about your surgery and was a success. May be my friend's doc does not do cryosurgery. I simply wonder now that he is dead what his doc meant..
Anyone , knows about sex and transmital of cancer cells from prostate to woman?? Is it possible? If c. cells go in would they live in woman's body or her immune system will kill them? _________________ ANIL |

Anil, if that was the case, my wife would have my cancer now. I really don't think so.
