My husband is 67. One year ago he had a radical prostatectomy for a "small cancer" in one lobe of the prostate. If memory serves his gleason score was not so good, indicating an aggressive tumor. After his surgery his psa was 0. At the first 3 month it was still 0 at six months it was on the rise but still under 1 so they waited another 3 months and it had risen somemore but still under one. He was then referred to an oncologist for radiation tx. They have done some tests and have ordered a CAT scan (the first one) radiation to start on 6/2/05 for 36 daily treatments. From what I have gathered they are going to radiate the abdominal area only. What if it has matastisized? What can be done to locate the cancer. Any thoughts about prognosis? Thank you

I had the exact same situation. There is an excellent paper on the cure rate for people like your husband. I had the radiation 2 years ago (it's called salvage radiation), and it seems to work. I can get you the paper if you want, email me:
