| If you have been a patient at City of Hope and/or a patient of Dr. Mark Kawachi who does DiVinci Robotic RPs at City of Hope. I would like your feed back. Dr. Tewari at NYP is the only other doc on my short list so far. |

AllenM, My understanding is that we're not supposed to give links here to other sites, or something like that...
Anyway, on another forum, this question about Kawachi came up.
There were two responses from guys who had their operation done by him.
Both praised his skills. I give you one of their responses below
===================================
"I went to kawachi i had to travel 400 miles to do it and stay in l.a. for a week,THERE IS NO BETTER SURGEON PERIOD, this is my opinion .however i have outstanding results to back it up,(so much for the popularity contest)not alot of people can say that.as was said previously, kawachi and wilson are the best on the west coast in a study done by ohio state university the kawachi wilson team were considered some of the best in the world ...i do have that study by the way i think they were 5 th or 6th, granted we dont personally know the actual people who did the study or criteria used, but i do have my own personal experience, which i will take to the bank , i dont know how many people would say this about there treatment choice ,but ill throw it out there,given all aspects ,i would do it the exact sameway all over again. and you guessed it,,, with dr.mark kawachi, PERIOD"
===================================
BTW I have heard Dr. Tewari's name spoken about with praise several times.
Seems like you would do well with either of them.
One note... it seems Tewari has developed a new technique for insuring a higher probability of avoiding incontinence after surgery.
Go to Google.......search these terms ( tewari Osterweil continence) and you'll come up with several articles.
Now, I'm not sure that other doctors are not using some similar method but so far I've only read about Tewari doing it. You could ask other doctors.
Best to you, Otago |
