We found out June 1st that he has lung cancer, the doctor as I stated in a previous post that she refused to do treatment as he is already not in good health, she gave him 6 months. Alot of family and friends are pushing us to try herbal treatment, is this a crazy idea? and this is another opinion question, In August of 2008 we took him to the ER due to him having fever and really not responding as much as he normally would. The doctor in the ER said that he had a mass in his lung and then when we got onto the actual hospital floor where he had a different doctor and the doctor said that he had aspiration pneumonia and did not have cancer...and then June of 2009 is when we found out he did have cancer, do you think he has had this cancer since August of last year?

Hi Stylist,

I'm sorry about your Grandfather. Cancer in the family is such a tough thing to wrap your mind around. I dearly hope he's not in any pain.

Lots of people seem to jump on the supplement/herb bandwagon when the chips are down. Frankly, I've seen no evidence that it does much good, but if someone isn't trying to bilk you out of a bunch of money, than your Grandfather should do what he wants. Just be aware, if it sounds to good to be true, it is.

Bronchial infections and pneumonia seem to be fairly common precursors to an actual lung cancer diagnosis. Sometimes people have several bouts of this and that's eventually how the cancer is detected -- via x-rays for the pneumonia. It's hard to say how long any patient has this beast lurking around prior to it being discovered. Depends of how fast the type he has grows.

Good luck and I hope you'll find the information and support you need here.

God bless,
PBJ
