I just got out of surgery for colon tumor removal and during my hospital stay I was getting an injection of Octreotide (Sandostatin) every 8 hours. When I was discharged from the hospital, I got a huge injection of the same, but this one lasts for 30 days, and then I go back and get another for the next 30 days. This is for as long as I have my ileostomy. I can't find anyone else who is getting these injections? The Dr said it was to slow down the digestive system. Is anyone else getting these injections?

I never got them - I had an ileostomy for 2 months - sure do wish I had been given something to slow things down though - seemed like everything ran right through me and into the bag....

are you getting a reversal eventually?

Yes, reversal will be after 4 more months of chemo
