Had my regular 6 months check up the other day and was "clear" (I get occassional/periodic basal cell cancers). Exactly a day and a half after the appointment, a large pink lump sprouted on my neck, probably a little less than a centimeter. This thing appeared where there had been absolutely nothing on the day of the appointment. I really don't get much acne anymore, and when I do it is not on my neck. This new growth has not changed for a few days, which brings me to today.

My question is, can a basal cell cancer emerge that suddenly, or must the actual "emergence process" be slower in nature? In other words, could this new growth be a basal cell?

Guess I'll be headed back to the Doc.

Larry, yes, go back to the doctor. I have personally never hear of a basal cell cancer growing that fast but I am not a doctor and am not qualified to make a diagnosis. So, go see someone who is qualified. Good luck.
