I went to the doctor last week because one of my breasts suddenly was swollen. When the doctor examined me, she said my lymph node was inflammed and prescribed an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory. I have been on those for 8 days. I went for a mammogram and ultrasound today, but they did not show anything in the breast. They did ultrasound the node and measured it and it was swollen. My breast is still swollen. What should I do next?

Hello

Having a swollen lymphnode in the axilla is not an uncommon thing. You should follow up with the doctor you saw. Your arm should improve, since this is most likely only lymphadenitis, which means that the lymphnodes are swollen due to some stimuli, for example a small infection. Anything from a small cut in your hand or fingers to a small infected pore in your underarm could cause it, but sometimes you don't even notice anything out of the ordinary. But again, you should follow up to make sure it goes back to normal.

regards,
Leo
