Hi, I'm a 19 year old girl, and well, I never thought I'd find myself on antyhing like this...
About 2 years ago, I was getting violent headaches almost daily. sometimes they were accompanied by dizziness. Once in a while I'd get just one of the two. Other than that, I was feeling fine, when I didnt have the headaches. Wasnt stressed, as far as I know anyway. Full of energy, ect ect. The headaches almost felt like someone had hit me over the head with a hammer, then kept applying more and more pressure. I went to see a neurologist once.. And she brushed it off as tension headaches, gave me medication, which never worked, and that was the end of that. I was suposed to go back for a follow up appointement. But by the time that appointement date came around, my headaches had stopped for a few weeks, and I wasnt on the medication anymore, and getting to her office was nearly impossible.
I was fine, except for sporradic (sp?) dizziness, and a few headaches here and there, until recently. For the past month or so, the headaches are back, though, not as frequent... Maybe once or twice a week? the dizziness is maybe once every 2 or 3 days, and lasts from 15 seconds to about 4 or 5 minutes. Sometimes it lasts about a minute, then stops for 5 minutes, and then comes back. It happens at various times.
I'm usually a VERY energetic and *peppy* person, but lately, despite still being wilder than most, Im much more tame, and easily rattled, and emotional than usual.
I often have twitching in my eyes, more often than not in the right eye, but sometimes the left. I have buzzing in my ears, again, right more than left. sometimes I see blurry.
I've also found that my balance is way off lately. All of this came up today, as a matter of fact, when my boyfriend was over, and I got dizzy twice, which he's used to. During a bad headache. And was very imbalanced all night (fell twice, almost fell at least 5 other times.. it seemed to be worse with the headache)
Occasional nausea as well. No vomitting though, although, 2 years ago, during my headaches, vomitting wasnt unlikely.
I've tried tension headache medication, as well as migrane medication, nothing has worked at all.
I'm the type of person who HATES going to the doctors unless I absolutely have to. I hate even more being bounced around from 1 specialist to another (have had to do that because of cyst problems, as well as liver problems)
My boyfriend thinks I should be getting checked out ASAP. I'm not so sure though. I mean, all of these symptoms are occasional? I feel 100% sometimes. What do you think? |
