Hello,
I am a 30 year old female facing my 2nd MOHs surgery . I have a lesion above my upper lip (and it does extend into the "pink" of my lip). However, having gone through this before, I am desperate to find an alternative to the MOHs. Has anyone had experience with this? Anyone know anything about the cream, Aldara or Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)?
If anyone can help, I would apprecitate it |

Kristine,
There are other treatments such as the ones you mentioned, however surgery is your best option as cure is very likely.
best regards,

Hi
I can't give an opinion about your specific case, you should discuss with your doctor about this if you're hesitant about getting surgery.

I assume you have already gone ahead with the surgery now.
Ive posted in another topic about this also, but i have had personal experience with a topical cream called Curaderm which healed a bcc i had on my chin. After 12 weeks of applying the cream it had scabbed and fallen of completely! If youd like any more info please post and let me know :)

hi...
I actually did have my first session of PDT yesterday. However, I would love to know more about your experiences and what cream you used. Feel free to email me off the boards at kristine@kristineryan.com |

I have personally observer, and used sucessfully in 5 others, that when a concentrated solution of vitamin c is applied to a basal cell (just wet it down 3 or more times daily) the lesion will dry up to a scab and fall off leaving a clean scar. The time required depends on the size, but less than 2 weeks usually.
It has the same effect as that described for the Curaderm cream mentioned in another post. Many other natural substances have been reported to have the same effect including wet green tea bags. My own experience is only with vit c.
Vitamin c has been reported to cure many cancers for over 40 years now. Recently Mark Levine at the NIH reported that vit c killed all their cultered human cancer cell lines in vitro (petri dish) at concentrations achievable through IV infusion in humans. Normal cells were not affected at any concentration of vit c. The study is published in the September 2005, "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences".
Had Mark used an expensive patenable pharmaceutical it would have been front page news in every newspaper and he would have been and would still be appearing on daily TV news and talk shows. Why did this not happen--The cost of the vitamin c to treat your lip will be less than one dollar. Also this is embarrasing to many prestigous individuals, and institutions. It would change the whole landscape of medicine, you get the picture?
Before your next surgery try the vit c treatment. You can use vit c in any of its forms, I used the salts of ascorbic acid.
