Hi,

On June 3rd 2006, at Newfound Lake in NH, I will be participating in an international distance triathlon (1.5K swim, 44K bike, 10K run) as part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma society “Team In Training”.

Although I have been blessed to date in that blood cancers have not touched the lives of anyone that I know, I am determined to ensure this remains the case and wish to do everything within my power to both find a cure, and to give aid and treatment to those who do have this terrible disease. 75% of everything raised goes directly to research and patient treatment groups for blood cancers.

I know that most of you reading this have been touched by this terrible disease in some way (either directly or through a family member), and wanted to ask for help and support in my endeavour, by either contributions to my cause or passing this on to anyone you know who may wish to contribute, so that the fight for a cure can continue.

My race will be in honor of all those who suffer from related blood cancers. In particular my honored hero is Ally Fanning, a brave young girl who is undergoing treatment for Leukemia. Despite her illness, she is very active within her community, enjoys playing the piano, and aspires to eventually become a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist. Ally and her family inspire me to train hard to finish the race competitively in the fighting spirit that they embody each and every day.

If you or anybody you know has been touched by blood cancer I would be honored to wear a ribbon with their name as I proudly cross the finish line for them. I will happily share pictures of the race day with any who are interested.

I have committed to raising $2500 for this effort by April 15th, but will still gladly take any contributions after this date.

Contributions will be accepted either online at my secure website by credit or debit card
http://www.active.com/donations/fundraise_public.cfm?key=tntmaPWither1,
or by checks in the regular mail, which can be sent directly to me (please email me at pwitherspoon@nexusenergy.com for my mailing address). Please make checks payable to "The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society".

I will be keeping the website up to date with pictures and training progress, so please be sure to check in often.

If you know of anybody else who may wish to contribute please pass this information on to them.

Best wishes and thankyou for your support, be it financial or in spirit,
