I posted not so long ago on here about my mum who has secondary liver cancer. Thank you for your support.
Mum has been in hospital having the fluid drained from her stomach and legs. She went in last Friday as a day patient and had to stay in, they have drained 7 litres but she is coming home tomorrow. She still has very swollen legs and although her tummy has gone smaller it is still very swollen. She has deteriated so much since Friday, she looks awful, sleeps a lot and has been hallucinating although she is sometimes aware that she is doing it. She shuffles along and cant get in and out of bed on her own and she has lost the will to live. She is drinking lots but has no apertite and hasnt eaten at all today. She is a mustard colour with bright yellow eyes. Its absolutely heartbreaking. She is talking in a whisper and is slightly confused. My lovely step father is worrying how he will cope and is going to phone the doctor and Macmillan nurses tomorrow.
Im sure she is being sent home to die and I am beside myself. When she went in hospital she was convinced she was going in there to die and was so scared but now she doesnt want to come home. Tonight she didnt seem to want me there.
We are being told nothing as to her time left and I just wanted to ask if anyone who has gone through this awful time could let me know if my mums symptoms mean she is close to dying. Ive gone from denial of my mums illness to despair and Im so worried about my 14 yr old brother.
Thank you
