| Oh shit you guys, I found another lump. I was laying in bed and I touch my collarbone and theres a lump. I thought it was a bone, but its not there on the other side. Its alot bigger than my other ones, but on the same side of my body. Its underneath my collarbone to the right a little. Do you even have lymph nodes underneath there? Ive heard of supraclavicle nodes, but that means above the collarbone. Its like an inch or so, maybe a little bigger. Its really hard, and Ive never noticed it before. Its not there on the other side of my chest. Shit you all, its a lot bigger than my other ones. I wonder if it was there seven weeks ago when I found the other ones. Maybe its some weird bone defect, I dont know, but it is round. Oh man, its so much bigger than my other ones. I just found it like five minutes ago. its really late and my husbands asleep and I didnt want to wake him up and freak him out, so I got on here. Im calling the doc tomorrow. I want him to look at this. Sorry for being so emotional.... I dont know if I can sleep tonight. This sucks. Crap. |

Hi ceaves,
Not meaning to add to your worries but onje of my lumps was directly under the colar bone and pretty much the size you describe. Mine lasted several weeks and then gradually went away.
If you can't get scheduled (you mentioned you were in the military health system) in what you think is an acceptable time frame, ask to see the hospital commander. I think you need some answers.

Called the doc, he said just go to the emergency room and they could check it out. I went, they had no idea what it was. The first guy said it was a lipoma, but he thought it was unusually hard, so he had someone else come look at it. The next guy said it was too hard to be a lipoma, so it was probably some kind of bone defect. He said that cancer wouldnt come up overnight like that, and I said it could have been there for a while. He took an xray of my chest, and then I waited for an hour. Some other guy came in and said I was free to go, and I was like, well so what the heck is it? He said, oh I dont know, let me look at his notes. He couldnt read them so he left and then came back. He said that the doc said its probably a bone, but to keep an eye on it and if it gets any bigger, come back right away. So I left feeling really discouraged and like a complete idiot. Now I dont know what to do. |

Ceaves,
Not exactly good news, yest on the other hand, not exactly bad news. You're currently back in the old "wait and see" game.
Have you explicitely asked to see an oncologist? Have you explicitely asked to have a CAT-scan? Do you still have an appointment with an ENT next month? If you're dissatisified with the treatment you're receiving, and scared that they're all playing a game of "The Emperior Has New Clothes", make an appointment to see the Hospital Commander, the Inspector General, the Patients Advocate, or whatever they call it nowadays. I would however encourage to talk this step over with your husband first though.
IOW, "Don't let the Bastards get you Down!"
