| I am concerned that my friend isn't being honest about her condition. She says she has lung cancer and is now in stage four... I don't know much about the disease and I want to be there for her if she is indeed sick, but I am concerned that perhaps she's not telling us the whole story. She still goes to work everyday, doesn't cough, wheeze or appear very short of breath (she is quite overweight, so when she's a little out of breath sometimes, that doesn't seem to necessarily point to cancer.) She is also on chemo but hasn't lost any weight that I can observe and hasn't lost her hair. There are a number of other things about her story that don't add up. If she is making all of this up, I think she needs a different type of help entirely (therapy) and I won't be doing her any favors by enabling her lies. Can anyone help me here? What should I be looking for or asking to figure this out? If I'm wrong, I want to know asap so I can give her the support she deserves! |

| My father was on chemo with stage IV lung cancer and didn't lose weight or his hair. He also went to work every day until 5 weeks before he passed. |

| Thank you Sherlock. You may ask your friend if she'd like your company when going for a chemo treatment. I know my Dad hated being there alone. |

| My father in law also didn't lose his hair. He instead shaved it all because his scalp was burned through the radiation. |
