Cancer can not survive where there is oxygen. Deep breathing and aerobic excercise kill cancer cells

Foods that contain nutrients that kill the cancer cells, stop the spread of cancer, or in some other way help treat the cancer (e.g. red raspberries with seeds, strawberries with seeds, broccoli, wheatgrass juice, cauliflower, avocados, several herbs, carrots, pineapples, almonds, pomegranate juice, unsweetened lemon, asparagus, beets, barley grass juice, cabbage, apricot kernels, garlic, onion, etc.)
cut out bread, corn, and white rice from your diet. Eat whole wheat but sparingly
DO NOT EAT SUGAR, sugar feeds cancer
eating only vegetables would be your best fight, so eat as much as you can (Don't cook, eat raw)
please research alternative cancer treatments

Hi, my mom has undergone chemo and radiation for ec cancer (and lymph nodes) she had the lymph nodes removed and the esophagus tumor was biopsied neg. I am now looking into anything natural for the healing process and to keep the lymph system clear and help the body heal itself and battle any microscopic cells just waiting to rear their ugly head. I'm curious as to where you got this info? Are you a nutritionist or consumer? My mom's not so easily sold on any of the complementary or alternative treatments so I need to investigate thoroughly before presenting it to her. Thanks in advance for any information. Debi

This is a combination of many different theories and for every statement above you will find an opposing view. At the end of the day the important thing is to eat moderately, avoid or massively reduce intake of saturated fats (found in red meats and full milk products), increase fluid intake and fruit and vegetables. There is some evidence that a small amount of some red wine is beneficial in treating most cancers (but NOT breast cancer).

Whatever, it is essential not to allow obsession with food to rule your life. The old saying " A little of what you fancy does you good" is very valuable and nicely balanced by the other great saying "Moderation in all things".

The following give good clear information on diet and supplements

This is an excellent point of reference on herbs and their uses, run by Sloan Kettering:

For those of you who doubt the red wine theory, here is a link as a starting point:

I am seeing some good tips here. The diet suggested by SouthernSam sounds expensive, but if you can do it and you believe in it, by all means, go for it. I do not believe that sugar is that bad. I hear a lot of negative stuff about sugar, but the fact is that the body can break down and convert every energy source into sugar. In limited quanities, sugar brings great happiness to me and I feel that happiness keeps my mind healthy which is very important.

Also please know that just a few years ago people were claiming that certain vitamin derivatives could fight cancer, such as Beta-carotene. Wrong. Smokers who took supplements of it got lung cancer MORE frequently. And every cancer is different and responds differently to the chemicals we put in our bodies.

The fact is, there is a lot of bogus info out there and even well designed clinical studies can still be flawed. Much basic science is conflicting but the media gets ahold of the sexiest story and runs with it, misleading the public. Unless you read the scientific literature everyday from a highly critical perspective that is looking for flaws in the experimental design, chances are, you are not getting the whole story. I am an MD/PhD student studying cancer biology and I do not have a strict cancer prevention diet because honestly, I am very confused by the conflicting data.

Take home message, eat healthy. Practice moderation. Eat raw, whole foods. Excercise. NO SMOKING!!! Avoid overcooked, grilled or highly processed meats (hot dogs, bolonga, potted meat product-yucko). Have hobbies that please you and surround yourself with the things and people who make you happy.

Hopefully, you will never get cancer, but even if you do everything "right" there is still the chance that you might. The DNA in our cells is a very fragile thing and sometimes we are born with mutations that cannot be healed by all of the flaxseed oil in the world.
