My mom has metastatic colon cancer, had a colon ressection and has undergone 3 chemo treatments. Unfortunately, the chemotherapy didn't work and we've been left with only 2 options. To keep her comfortable until her time comes or the debulking surgery, which I believe is officially called something like introperitineal heated chemotherapy. It's a pretty uncommon, highly risky surgery and I'm just trying to find any information I can. Is anyone familiar with this procedure? Or know anyone that had it done successfully?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

hi there, first let me say im so sorry that your mother has fallen ill. i have the infor that u need tho. im a surgical icu nurse and the operation that your mother needs is done in my unit. i take care of patients like her all the time! i do not know where you are located by the MD that does this at my hospital is well know all over the country and is one of few who preform this procedure. what u are looking for is intraperitoneal hyperthermic chemotherapy. dr robert barone is the doc and u can google him im sure but he is associated with sharp memorial hospital(where i work) in san diego, california. i have taken care of patients that have come to him as a last resort from all over the country. i do not know the specifics of your mothers condition and cannot make an assessment online nor can i tell you what dr barone would say but i hope this helps! ---oh and if u r east coast there is a doc out there too....dont know his name tho
