The short answer is "no one knows for sure." It varies with the individual. Some people never get a full regrowth of their hair. Other, it starts to grow within weeks of the end of their chemotherapy. I hope you are in the last group. Good luck. _________________ Jim

| In my own experience, my body hair all started growing back first, and that was a few weeks post treatment. It wasn't until about 2 months or maybe a bit more after treatment that I started to notice the hair on my head growing back. I was worried it wouldn't come back at all, but it did! It's come in a little thinner than it was before, but I think I'm the only one who really notices that. I've known a couple other ladies who lost their hair to treatment too, one's came in a little darker, and the other's hair came in a bit curlier. A little different for everyone I guess. |

Agree with the previous posts. Likely weeks to months and it may be different than the hair you had before. _________________ RLee, MD

Everyone else that I knew had different experiences with their hair growing back, but I can share my expierience. I had lymphoblastic lymphoma all the way back in 1990. I started chemo and radiation in December, and my hair all fell out by January. I had a total of 18 different chemo drugs during the 18 months, but my hair started growing back in August, about 8 months after it fell out, even when I was still on chemo. It came back the same, just a little darker. Other kids I knew when I was going through this had their hair grow back curly when it was previously straight, some thinner, some just the same like me. I guess everyone's bodies do differently and depending on what treatment course you're on. _________________ Lymphoblastic Lymphoma |
