Hi, my first post. My father was diagnosed with Chronic Leukemia CLL about 2 years ago and went through chemo . He was in remission for about a year. After a recent CT scan we discovered that the cancer is back. He was diagnosed w/ Large B Cell Lymphoma. If anyone has any advice to offer. Any oncol. they can recommend that specialize in this area? Any experiences with such a rare transition? Any knowledge of treatments?

Thanks in advanced.

Hi bol6,

What does his medical team say? Leukemia and Lymphoma are two very different cancers. Are they saying that he has two primary cancers? In general, two primaries are rather rare!

No, they found traces of CLL but he does not have it. Primarly, he has lymphoma.

The doctors recommended chemotherapy followed by stem cell transplants if the CHOP is not effective. However, do you any experience with direct stem cell transplant, it seems the chemo does not have much evidence of being effective.
