I just found this site and am thankful to find it. My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer this past March. Though a 'surprise' it really wasn't as she had a terrible cough for months. She went in for a leg amputation and found this as well. My brother, at the same time, was diagnosed with Acute Liver Failure so he too doesn't have much time left.

Its hard because 1) neither of my parents will talk about it so its like pulling teeth to get any info about how she is doing. 2) I'm not sure what to expect over the next months. The outcome looks bad from what I've read in these posts. I haven't anyone really to talk with so this is helpful to me.

Thanks
Grapevine

Hello Grapevine,

Would it be possible to speak to one of your Mum's doctors to get some information on her condition? I'm sure having more facts will assist in the care and support of both your parents [and your wellbeing].

Sending lots of warm Aussie hugs.

Grapevine, you and your family are in a very difficult situation. Unfortunately, you do not have many options. You need to talk to your mother and tell her how you feel and how difficult not knowing is for you.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

grapevine,
ask your mother if you can be listed on her doctors info list. If she gives permission you can just call the drs office and they can talk to you. I did this with my dad since he never talked too much about himself. I kept up to date and the drs and nurses were great about informing me of everything that was going on.
