hi all. in january i had a stubborn zit removed from the back of my scalp. a week later i went in to have stitches removed and the usually really nice folks in dermatology were much too nice and sweet,if you know what i mean. they offered me tea, told me the head of the dept. was on his way,as was my primary and oh by the way, would i like to call my husband or maybe a priest??!!?? um,no,,just spit it out. then i was asked to be seated and told (very gently and with tears rolling down her face, poor thing) that i had metastisised adenocarcinoma. in their opinion i was beyond terribly ill,,so ill i shouldn't be walking around or driving,, but i just didn't realise it because i was so stressed out from my husband's recent dx of richters transformation. (a deadly and aggressive lymphoma).
fast forward through every test known to man and they can't find any cancer anywhere. just my head. there are lots of pre-cancerous cells everywhere else,,but nothing definate. so they remove a big portion of my scalp, fill the hole with a skin graft and send me home.. next step is in september i may have a lymph node removed to see if the cancer has spread to the nodes . if so i won't probably be here next year. nice, huh?
so has anyone ever heard of this? know anyone who has had it and survived? how can i have it and feel ok? i mean i'm a nervous wreck and sleeping is something i fondly remember but don't do anymore,,other than that i'm at the gym most days, riding my horses when ever the rain allows and have my usual huge appetite. can i really be sick?
guess i'm just venting,,my friends are tired of hearing about it and husband is still recovering from chemo. can't talk to my kids without freaking them out,,so i'm telling you nice people. thanks for listening.
