Well, I have certainly missed talking to you all, old and new. Well, my wife is still battling. We are off chemo as of February which I think I had posted. She is having severe pain now. It will be one year on August 16 since she was diagnosed. She told me the other day that she didnt think she would be here much longer. I talked with her doctor and he said that the patient will know when the end is near.

She doesnt sleep at night, she is constipated from the pain meds. We have her on the duragesic patch and percoset and it still barely controls the pain. I am noticing diffferent things about her that indicate she is nearing the end of her precious life. Her skin has taken a different appearance. All six of our children were in this last weekend and spent the weekend with us at home. We had a wonderful time. The one great thing is that my wife still has a good mind about her and can still function somewhat. We elected not to go with hospice just yet only because of the commitment of our family and friends and I feel that I am able to meet her needs at present.

Unfortunately, the next time I get on here it will probably be with bad news but I at least wanted to touch base with you all while my angel is still here with us.

God bless you all and I pray for you all daily, please know that.

Sincerely, Mark

Mark, I am so sorry to hear about your wife's deteriorating condition!! Pancreatic Cancer can be so hard on a person. I know you know that better than I do. Your wife is very fortunate in that she has a loving, caring family around her. Do keep us informed. I will certainly keep you and you wife in my thoughts and my prayers.

Hi Mark,

My heart goes out to your wife, you and your family. PC is not an easy disases and she did not have much of a chance without the Whipple procedure. I did not start reading about this diseases until a few months after my Whipple because I did not want to cloud my mind with something that I had no control over. I trusted in the Lord and I know that God has blessed me 19 months after the fact. Your family are included in my prayers.
