Are We on The Right Track?

My father is 62, 2 years ago PSA at 5.32 no cancer find.
On 8/2007 PSA is 8.9, Biopsy find 2 spot.
Left Mid Gleason’s Score 4+4=8
Left Base Gleason’s Score 3+4=7
MRI and CT scan shows no spread.

Treatments:
A) Hormone Therapy:
1) Hormone Shot every 3 month
2) CASODEX 50mg daily

B) Radiation Therapy:
1) Breast radiation (schedule for 3 times to prevent breast enlarge)
2) External radiation IMRT (schedule in 12/2007 for 28 days 2 minutes daily)
3) Seeds radiation (schedule after external radiation)

Question:
1)Have anyone done breast radiation? (Any side effects, hair fall off?)
2)Does any one breast enlarge because of Hormone Therapy?
3)External Radiation has scheduled to wait 4 month? (Should be this long or Dr. are too busy?)
4)Seeds radiation increases 10% success? (Do I have to?)
5)Is surgery a better treatment?

Thanks for any feedback!

George

Are we on the right track? " Gleason score of 8 is high risk cancer, so the agressive treatment suggested is logical.

In answer to your specific questions:

1) Breast radiation for this purpose is a light dose, usually without major side effects.

2) Not everyone has enlarged breasts from hormone treatment, but it can and does happen.

3) It is believed that radiation can be more effective after hormone treatment.

4) Some people have IMRT without seeds. As you suggested, seeds are designed to improve the treatment.

5) Some people do have surgery for intermediate and high risk cancer, but if it's not successful additional treatment (radiation &/or hormones)can be required after.
