| week of temador. It is the last day of the 5 day treatment. My husband has a GBMIV. How does this make other people feel? He says , he feels like he has the flu,3 times like usual. Mostly sleeping, and hard to get him to eat or drink. He takes zofran for nausea.'This is his second round of the 5 day deal. He will be out of it for about 3 days. Is this how it does everyone or does he need his dr. to give him something for it? |

im pretty sure this is the same thing im on.. and the first week can be the hardest but as u move on your body gets yoused to it in my case anyways. i dunno if it the same thing or not if it is pills it is a good chance it is i do it 5 days out of the mounth as well i find the best way for me was to take them right before I went to bed... it took a few minutes to kick in most of the times I was a sleep after u sleep for so many hours when u wake up it dont feel as strong the odd time though it will wake u up at night gagging but it is not half as bad the next day as it would be if u took it well awake
May be different for him im not sure just saying what helped me abit |

Hi mp, people react differently to temador... or any other chemotherapy for that matter. Like annaplasticMan suggested, have your husband try to take it at different times and see what works for him.
I am very sorry about his diagnosis. My mother died due to a GBMIV over 9 years ago and, if you will read my story, I too have a long history with gliomas... almost 15 years since I was first diagnosed. To be sure, mine was a much lower grade tumor than what your husband has.
The key is to try to make the most out of every day... even if that is only watching his favorite sport on TV some days.
I will be thinking about and praying for you and your husband. _________________ Jim

| Hi MP, Im so sorry your husband has GBMIV. My partner was diagnosed May 06 with GBMIV. How old is your husband and when was he diagnosed. My partner took Temodal / Temador - he had a very low dose while he was having radiation treatment which he handled quite well, except for the last week when his platelettes were down. Then had a break and went on it for 5 days out of the month for 6 mths. The first month wasn't too bad but when they increased the dose the next month he was hospitalised as they said he was sensitive to it and they kept his dose low for the 6 mths. He use to take 1 zofran (around 5:30 in the morning) which was half an hour before he took his temadol and then waited 1 hr before he ate - which on the low dose seemed to help him. But as you will read everyone is different. I hope they work out a way to ease your husbands suffering with the medications. Please keep in touch as this is a great forum to learn, get support and receive great comfort from. Love to all. Jen. |

My husband is 56 years old. He had a wreck and found out he had a brain tumor, May 11. He took 160 mg temador in morning and again at night. He takes the zofran a half hour before each dose. We had to go to e.r. the other day. They gave him fluids and phenergan, (for nausea) and Protonix to help heal his stomach . He is doing much better with this. They did a chest xray and think he may be getting phenumonia. He spiked a fever last night and we are on a z-pack now. Things are better but still like a bit to go , to getting back to , what is now considered, normal.
Thanks so much for responding. It does help to have others to talk to |

| I am finally back after a couple weeks. We have had a real bad time ,trying to get him to eat or drink anything. I won't go through all it has been, but we found out, he has gallstones. YEAH. It is an explanation for most things. He is scheduled for surgery this wednesday , to get rid of the gallbladder. His blood test are good right now, and they don't want to wait until later, when they may be down. Praying for all on here. Hang in there, God does answer prayers. Not by our timing , but by His. Chemo will be delayed, but we are trusting God to take care of everything. |

Dear MP
Sorry to hear about the 'setback' with your Husband! At least they've found out about the gallstones. I believe your prayers (& ours) will be answered too. Chemo will happen when the time is right.
Thanks for the update. You & your family are in my thoughts & prayers. Keep us informed when you find the time.
God's blessing & best wishes, Aussie Angie. _________________ Brother diagnosed with GBMIV Feb 07
