Hi

I was diagnosed with Melignant Melanoma last February and was successfully removed by surgery. I have since then had 6 biopsies and see my consultant every 12 weeks. The problem i am having is i'm constitently checking, every day and this is taking over my life. I feel so out of control of my body at the moment and i'm really scared that the consultant might just miss a mole that could be a melanoma. I have hundreds of moles that i'v been told are dysplastic, but they will just have to be kept an eye on. I need advice on how to cope with this feeling, has anyone experienced the same?

Thanks

Mich, how terrible!! Sad. I cannot say that I know what you are going through but I know how it was for me during the "not knowing" times. I still live with that. In your case, you can do self examinations at least weekly. If you see a change to any of the moles, contact your medical team.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Brainman, just nice to here from someone that understands. I feel because it's just a mole being removed it's not such a bad thing, but it's a massive thing to us who are going through it and i wish i could get that message across.

Take care

Mich
