Are you in contact with the local office of the American Cancer Society? How about the local hospital's social workers and chaplains? All of these could help you with ideas that would be best for your community. You also should ask your local oncologists' offices to post a message about your support group or hand out information to their patients about your group.

Good luck.

Jim, thanks for info. The American Cancer Society helped us get started, we live in a very rural community, and our group is small. Different kinds of cancer, mostly breast cancer and women, had several inspirational speakers and did some community service for children in our area that has cancer. We have been a group since Sept. I want to keep our group motivated and coming because the need of such a support group is so great in our area. We have a wig, and hat bank, also a small library and Look Good Feel Better program, when need arises. Would like some ideas to keep us going and interested. Thanks so much for your advice. Much appreciated.

You might want to ask some other speaker. Inspirational speakers are good but cancer patients also want informational speakers. An oncologist or a nurse from an oncologist's office will be helpful.
