My spouse has pancreatic cancer (IPMT) and is inoperable. The surgeon could only remove the tail of the pancreas due to portal hypertension (he said he would kill him if he tried to remove it all). That was in Oct. He saw the Oncologist today and was told he was too weak to have chemo. (He was not referred right away as the cancer did not present itself right away) He is down to 100 lbs, eats very little and is weak. Do you know of anyone who has had chemo when they were in this bad shape? I am so frustrated with the medical system.

myangel, I am so very sorry about your husband's struggle with pancreatic cancer. I do not understand why his medical team did not start chemo soon after they did the surgery! I can understand your frustration and anger and deep grief about all that is happening to the two of you. I know of people that have a strong will to fight who have had chemo until chemo was not working anymore. You might what to read freeio's story and blog at: http://cancerforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=6939 . He was a very important member of this community who died this fall after a long and hard battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He is my personal hero in this war.

You and you husband are in my thoughts and my prayers.

Do a search and read about my sister's fight. She was supposed to have died in August according to the doctors and we had a major fight going to have them give her medical care to save her life. She was released after 4 months in hospital, and able to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year with the family.

She was 90 lbs and they were forced to give her chemo and radiation. Without those, she would be dead. Keep fighting and make them listen!

Good luck to you.
