I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I'm a 24 year old female that went in for a CT scan of the pelvic then was told that they didnt' find anything there but in the scanning the lower lung fields reveals a noncalcified pleural based left lower lobe lung nodule measuring 3.72 mm and right basilar linear density which may be due to linear atelectasis or scarring. Does anyone know what this can mean? i asked my doc quetsions but she didn't really know b/c she was my OBGYN. The next day i was sent for a ct scan of the thorax and now im' just wating. can anyone help please?

Hi Crystal. I am very sorry about your current health concerns. A noncalcified nodule can be many things. There is no way to know for sure what it is without further studies. You will probably be referred to a pulmanologist soon.

Let us know what you find out. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi and I'm sorry that you are going through a bit of a scare. Brainman's right, there can be many reasons for that small of a nodule. Unfortunately you are going to have to wait for more test results. I know how frightening this must be to you, but try to hang in there.
