Hi,
I have Stage IV breast cancer with mets to the bone (since Fall of 06).
Since early December, 07 I have had pressure in my head. This is in the front part of head when I bend over. I have NO pain, no headaches no nausea, or any other typical symptoms anywhere else in the body usually indicated for brain tumors.
I had a CT scan on my sinuses, but nothing showed up.
My onco doesn't think it's a tumor because he said it isn't the typical symptoms.
It seems to be getting worse. Usually when I'm upright, I don't feel any pressure, (only occasionally now) and then it goes away.
If I lay down at night I will feel the pressure and after a short time it goes away.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what this is? Could it be a brain tumor that just isn't exhibiting the normal symptoms?
I had radiation in the lower back for a large tumor (in Jan-Feb. of 07)
I have had no chemo.
Would appreciate any ideas.
Thank You,
Karen |

Hi Karen0610. First, I am very sorry about your breast cancer with mets to the bones. You might want to post on the breast cancer forum was well. Someone there might know more about breast cancer mets to the brain.
Second, it does not sound like brain cancer because the typical brain cancer does not present itself with head pressure. In order for a brain cancer to be causing enough pressure for you to feel it, it would have to be so large that it would be causing all sort of other problems as well. Having said that, you still need to continue to work with your medical team in order to identify the cause of this pressure.
Best wishes. _________________ Jim

I am sorry about your cancer and its secondaries.
Have your doctors considered sinus infection? It often presents as a pressure. |

| I would just like to point out that a tumour within the brain is not nessicerely "brain cancer" tumours can be benign aswel as malignant. I'm not been picky i just dont feel it's correct automatically terming it "brain cancer". |

i thought you might want to read some more about the causes and treatment options available are for certain brain cancers.
The Brain Intracranial Tumor is considered to be a mass or growth of abnormal cells in a person’s brain. This type of disease is usually classified in two groups: primary and secondary types of tumors. Primary types of tumors have the origin in the patient’s brain and they can be either cancerous (benign), or non-cancerous (malignant). The secondary types of tumors develop from cancer that started elsewhere and then spread to the brain. Primary tumors are less encountered than secondary type tumors.
I hope this provides some help for you |
