Hi

I was diagnosed with focal intestinal metaplasia of the gastric antrum. I live a healthy lifestyle- do not abuse alcohol, drugs etc. I try to eat well and get regualr exercise. I am in my mid 40's with two children. I have had doctors tell me everything from- it may never develop into anything or it may turn into dysplasia and then cancer. I am looking for more information on how to deal with this. I would love to know what the chances are of dysplasia- if the IM can be reversed and how often I should be monitored.
If anyone out there has more info. than my GP and the gastro who was very disinterested in my case I would greatly appreciate the advice. I would also be interested in some web sites that I may check. I am not finding the medical community where I live to be very helpful and am totally frustrated.
