Dear Grammijae
I would like to express my sympathies & condolences to you on the passing of your brother last weekend. Such a young, young man & to have been fighting this diseases for the past 7yrs! What a guy!
My prayers & thoughts are with you at this very sad time. May you be comforted in the knowledge that yr Bro's spirit was shining through during his battle with cancer & that he was peaceful when his time came.
It is difficult to find the words on this occasion but I am feeling your pain as I too have a 47yr old Bro who is also fighting - a brain tumour. It is devastating.
Don't hesitate to post here if you feel it necessary to talk about yr Bro & his battle. Your words will be a catalyst for many here who are also on the "cancer" journey.
Thinking of you, Angie.

Grammijae,
I am so sorry that you lost your brother. He was so young. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Lean on the Lord Jesus. He will help you through this difficult time.

May the Lord bless and keep you. I know what you are going through. I lost my husband to colon cancer when he was 55.

I too lost someone to colon cancer in April. My ex-husband who was 47 died on April 22, 2008. I prayed that when his time came he would go quickly and not suffer long term. My prayers were answered, however I wasn't prepared for how quickly it happened. It was such a difficult thing to watch. Within 48 hours he went from coherent and alert to hallucinating to coma to death. Our 23 and 21 year old children and I were with him until the end. My children are still having a hard time getting that image out of their mind. Seeing your grown son sob on his dad's chest is so hard to see and my daughter laid next to her dad crying for a long time even after he had passed. It has been a month today, but the pain has not subsided. I wish I knew when it gets easier. Up until recently, it just didn't feel real. I think it is finally starting to sink in. I think it is because I am starting to handle all of his finances and donate what is left of his belongings that family has not taken. I will pray for you and your family, as I pray for mine. Take care.

Diane,
I know what you are going through. I am so sorry. It has been almost four years since my husband passed away from colon cancer. We all still miss him. I really missed him when our 24 year old son got married last July. My daughter still misses her Daddy. I will pray for you and your family. The pain lessens as the years go by but it never is completely gone.

I lost my Dad March 30, 2008 to Pancreatic Cancer. He was 88 years old. That was another big sorrow for my children and me. He was ill for about 9 months. He broke his hip in June, 2007 and he went down hill from there. He never got to go back home. He was either in the hospital or at a nursing home. My Mom is still living and she misses him terribly since they were married for 61 years. He was a replacement Dad for my children. Please pray for my Mom, my son, my daughter and for me.

Please contact me anytime you need to vent. I know how hard all this is for you all. My faith in the Lord Jesus has been a great help to me. I pray that you all will find peace and understanding.
