| Hello again I posted before but they said I looked funny so I had to start over. (Just kidding). My name is Mark I'm from Oregon and last Oct was diagnosed with stage IV melanoma 9 spots on lungs and 2 tumors in chest cavity even though no visable signs of entry. I've had 3 body exams and there is nothing not a mole or lesion any where. Felt pretty low as I was told on my 50th brithday. Never have felt any pain anywhere just a little bump under my collar bone. Your world spins as all of you know. Luckily I was sent to a Great Dr. at the Oregon Clinic and thats where I learned about IL2. He explained all the risks and different options. So I decided to try IL2 First week was living hell took 8 doses and then took a sleeping agent hallucinated and ripped out the pick line. They of course stopped the doses My heart raced had all kinds of problems. dr. keep saying its not the number of doses its is the IL2 working. So I had week 2 ( had to have a roommate) . Itching , nusea some pain in my side and headaches. Of course no sleep. Took 10 doses went home. Pain in my side I was sure I had Tumors growing, waited for scan ( Now theres torture). Dr came in on his day ( second time he has done this) and said Your tumors are SHRINKING substanially. spots on lungs have disappearred and other have shrunk by at least 1/2. So I got cycles 3 & 4 still had a good scan and got cycles 5&6. According to my Dr. I have NO active melanoma in my body and he says a 80% chance it wont come back. Has anyone else had 6 cycles? Anysides effects( I have nuropahy in my hands (I'm typing with my pinkie and ring fingers). Thanks for listening. STAY POSITIVE!!!!Family, Faith and Friends can get you anything. Mark |

Hi Erick I had no visable sign of entry hence the ghost part of my story.(This happens in 10-15% of Melanoma patients) The Cancer was biopsied in my lymph nodes. Pet scan of Oct 2007 showed 9 spots on my lungs and a tumor next to my epshoguse ( probably butchered that spelling) and one in my chest cavity. At my June 3th Pet scan there was NO active melanoma w/ spots all but gone on lungs and tumor reduction by over 50% on the other areas with only scar tissue left. My Dr says there is a 80% it won't come back. Still take life one day at a time, Feel VERY Blessed!!!

No IL2 for me yet.
I'm currently on Leukine Gm Csf.
My next scans are scheduled for Aug. 12th, so not sure if it's working or not.
Tell you what though, my next scan comes out negative, and "BAMB" this firecracker is going off!!!!!!!!!!
I'm talking one happy beast
I guess the kind I've got is a mutated form not caused by exposure to the sun. Started on the bottom of my left foot
