Hello everyone
This is my first post.
I was put onto anti TNF therapy a few months ago to help combat my Ankylosing Spondylitis. After having 6 injections I noticed a swelling in my throat. I was told to stop the TNF and the doctors performed a needle biopsy on the lump, which by now had been confirmed as a swollen lymph node.
I went to get the results of the needle biopsy a few days ago only to be told that they were inconclusive, however, anti TNF therapy has been know to cause lymphoma so I am going in this week to have the lump cut out.
I have also developed a lump unger my left armpit.
I was wondering if anyone has experience of Anti TNF Therapy and its possible link with Lymphoma.
Hope someone can help
Thanks
Paul |

TNF is an immunosupprecent drug that eases the sypmtoms of Arthritis and Anylosing Sponylitis.
Have a look at these sites for some more info:

All my doctors keep saying that it is a known cause of Lymphoma and I just wanted to find out if anyone has has any experience.
Thanks

Hi Paul
You need to get the node out. Fine needle biopsies are notorious for giving false negatives. Get it done quick.
Any link is probably because of the AS not the TNF therapy.
Don't panic its OK,it's probably nothing, but all lymphomas are easy to treat if caught early.
The Biopsy is a minor uncomplicated procedure and is worth the peace of mind if it is nothing, and valuable time if it is not.
Good luck with the biopsy, be quick don't mess about with this. I'm really hoping its nothing. _________________ Age 52

Hi there,
thanks for the reply
Got the letter through the post today calling me in for the biopsy and a pandenoscopy next Wednesday. Not to bad for the NHS here in the UK!!
Just be nice to get it done and have the results. Its all the waiting that's the worst part.
thanks
