Dear fellow members of The Cancer Forums,
I am honored to serve you as Forums Moderator. The task seems a bit overwhelming at times. However, I am grateful to Dr. Leo for entrusting me with this task.
Some of you may have noticed over the last few days some tension on the Forums. To whatever extent I contributed to that tension, I would like to apologize. I know that the last thing most of us need is more distress in our lives.
There are a number of things which I will not tolerate: advertisements and personal attacks are on the top of my list. However, it is about what I will tolerate that I wish to talk to you. I am a believer in traditional medicine. I will not deny that fact. However, I do understand the limits of traditional medicine. Traditional medicine has not solved the “cancer problem” we face. Nevertheless, I continue to trust in the work of our doctors, whether in a research lab or an oncology office. I know of no finer gentlemen and ladies than those who dedicated their lives to the art of medicine. They spend countless hours that we, the patients, do not see working to find the best possible treatment for each of us. Are they just in it for the money? Maybe a few. But the vast majority work hard because they really do want to help and because the really do hate cancer.
Having said that, let me continue and say I am not opposed to messages about alternatives to traditional medicine. In many cases, what we now think of as traditional medicine began as alternative medicine. One of the medications I took as traditional chemotherapy was Vincristine. For centuries, the plant from which Vincristine was originally extracted was used by medicine men, which doctors, shamans, etceteras for all kinds of things. So, if you want to talk about the beneficial effects of bamboo tea, who am I to object?
I will object, however, if your reason is to:
1. Discredit traditional medicine and/or
2. To sell “bamboo tea.”
I know many of you have had less than ideal experiences with traditional medicine. We can even talk about that. Let us discuss these experiences with a degree of respect and civility toward each other. Traditional medicine worked for me. It may not for you or your loved one. “Bamboo tea” may work for you, but it does not work for me.
As Forum Moderator, there are two big issues I look for:
1. Are you trying to sell or make a profit from the Forum?
2. Are you treating others and are you being treated with respect and civility?
Let me repeat that I am more than honored to serve you as Moderator. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a PM or email. I do not, cannot, respond to every thread. Since I am not a doctor, I tend to stick with what I know. Also, if others are responding to you, I may seek out those who have been overlooked. However, I carry each of you in my thoughts, prayers, and heart all the time. _________________ Jim

Thanks Jim for helping me and other fellow members. I have the very same concerns about the forum. If someone logs on to sell things, please do not even bother. This person will be banner permanently, and we will not tolerate any disrespect on this website.
best regards,

Dear Brainman,
Perhaps its time to close down BONEZ who joined on 13 March and began posting on same date. Probably I shouldn't have got into a conversation with him/her but I didn't like the reply given by Stella who joined on 12 March. Please see Bonez’s postings under OH NOEES.

I have directed some contacts to a berry that for me has been a God Send, I do not sell them nor do I endorse them, I just feel when traditional medicine fails to address cancer issues, people need to know what else can be done. If my offering the web page to some of these offends members, then I will cease. My only purpose to to help, I do not need money, friendship is not a purchasable commodity.
sorry if I offended anybody.
Al

I just came to look at this thread and noticed that one of the Google ads was for apricot kernels. Laetrile has been comprehensively discredited and is, I believe, illegal in the US?
This is the site, which as you can see is a UK one:-
http://www.kernelpower.co.uk/acatalog/Bitter_Apricot_Kernel_Products_containing_Laetrile.html
Is there anything you can do about this? _________________ adenocarcinoma of the breast, now widely metastatic (stomach, liver, pelvis, pancreas, bones, skin)

For now I can pray for you, as for the berry, check it out, read about it, it has litterally made me a believer in Natural Cures. As for your fantastic survival record, your made of some pretty good stuff to start out with, just keep thinking positive about things and shoot for another 10 at least.
STAY STRONG, LIVE STRONG, BE STRONG

| I have a post in the lymphoma section with the same subject. Not sure how to link it, but that's where you'll find my story. |
