Concern: The melanoma that was removed last year was in a location that had NEVER seen the sun. I guarantee this! I have no risk factors besides propensity to burn.

--- Your skin is ONE organ. Like a heart or any other organ. Just because it is spread over your outer body is no reason to think that it responds differently because you treat different parts in different ways. When one area is exposed to the harmful rays of the sun, the whole organ is affected.

Now that makes sense to me, and I just wanted to share it.

As for the rest of the exam, it wasn't as brightening. Chunks of me have been sent to be checked, droplets will be drawn and photograhic images of my innards will be done on Monday. It has already been a long wait, and we still have to get all the way to Wednesday.

The doctor seemed concerned, but more because I have been so sick this last year. Five major lung infections/pneumonia/bronchial attacks in the last 12 months. When i first got sick in June, I pulled out my old inhaler and used it in the middle of the night when I couldn't breathe... The expiration date on it was 1997... so the last time I needed one was 1996. He seemed almost angry that no chest x-ray or bloodwork had ever been done since my initial Dx of melanoma last year.

My husband is almost sick over it.

Me, I just keep singing to myself. If i stop, I'll go crazy, if I keep going, the rest of the world thinks i'm crazy.

I like the way you talk about the skin and it being one big organ. It's more than just the skin on your finger.....it covers our entire body and we need to treat it that way..
