Hi everyone, I was wondering if you could give me some advice?
Yesterday I discovered a painful and large lump in the submental Lymph node (in the middle of the area directly below my chin, at the top of my neck). I've been tired a lot recently without knowing why, but other than this I haven't noticed anything else.
However, today I was at the hairdressers, when I was looking in the mirror, before they had even run a comb through my hair, i saw what looked like a small knot of loose hair, i pulled it away from my head and to my horror a large clump of hair came away.
I checked on the internet and it said to go to my doctor immediately, what does everyone else think?
I haven't really noticed any bed-sweats or loosing any weight quickly - however I haven't weighed myself for a few days.
I don't want to go to the doctor all worried about nothing, so I came to ask your opinions. If you could help then I would be eternally grateful.
Thanks
Laura

LUMPS FROM LYMPHOMA ARE USUALLY NOT PAINFUL, BUT WITH ALL LUMPS, HAVE THEM CHECKED OUT. The clump of hair, seems odd. good luck

Thanks, also a few minutes ago at dinner I was having really sharp pains in both of my kidneys. I've had a kidney infection before and it wasn't like this. Kidneys isn't any kind of symptom is it?
Thanks

Kidney pain, I would say no; back pain maybe, see your doctor, tell him everything and then you will find out whats what. If he doesen't run tests, see an onc.

When you say painful, what exactly do you mean? Like at first, or all the time, do you know?

The only reason I ask, to make a long story short, I found a lump in my left armpit and then right armpit. Both lumps came about after a pain in my armpit, almost like I had pulled a muscle and stayed that way for 2 days or so. Now, the one in my left doesnt really hurt anymore, and now the one in my right still is tender to touch and mildly painful.

Just wanted to see what you think and what is meant by "painful"?

Also, my lumps are really small, about the size of a pea or M and M if that helps. A little nervous and planning on going to the doctor, but wanted to wait and see if it goes down on its own after a few weeks.

Hi Laura,
I would definatlely go to the doctor because a lump is obviously not normal. Most people dont have painful glands but i did, what kind of pain are you having? I dont know about the clump of hair i dont think thats a symptom or sign but thats something i would look into. As for the being tired that could be something too so i would go to your doctor just to be safe even if it turns out to be nothing which i hope it does atleast you will know because the worst part is worrying and not knowing. Good luck and i hope everything turns out okay. Best wishes
