My Mom has been diagnosed with severe emphysema. The pulminary Dr. also found 4 nodules. Three in one lung , one in the other . She is very upset. I am trying to become informative and stay upbeat for her. It's tough to do . She's always on my mind.. She lives 2200 miles away. Recently she came to visit and her health scared me so I had her promise to go to the dr. First her GP and now the specialist. She's scheduled for a ct w/ and w/o contrast and I am worried. Could any one please respond ?? Dad died in 1993 w/ brain c/a , 6 mos. later my 28 yr old sister was diagnosed with brain c/a in utero.I just can't stand the thought of my mother being this ill and possibly dying. She spoke of our recent time together, the laughing ect. It's painful and I feel like crying. I know she's very depressed and I'm headed that way. Looking for any responce. I love Mom so ....Jenny

Jenny

I am sorry to hear about your mother. I think the best thing to do is to wait for the results of the CT. Until then, all we can say is "nodules", and only the CT will be able to define the characteristics and the likelihood (or not) of it being cancer. This certainly is a period of enormous anxiety, but try your best to keep your good energy !

best regards,
Leo
