I am a 35 y/o mommy with 3 beautiful kids (16, 13 and 2).
Since the beginning of June, I had what I thought was just a bad UTI, then it moved to being a bladder infection. I literally had blood dripping out of my ureathra. I was on antibiotics for a while, and the UTIs kept coming back.
When that all started happening, I went from a size 10 to a 14 basically overnight. This takes us now to the beginning of July. I've had very bad cramping on my right side (lower) and 3 inches to the right of my belly button.
There has been horrible periods, where clots the size of softballs have fallen out of me, bleeding in between periods and after intercourse, pain w/intercourse, lower back pain on my right side, I'm tired beyond belief, nausea, diarrhea and constipation. I look like I'm 4 months pregnant, but I can't eat hardly anything.
This hurts! I saw my gyn and he did an untrasound. I have 3 cyst and 1 of them had ruptured. The fluid is staying inside my uterus. His nurse called me 2 days ago, and they want to do an endometrial biopsy.
They did draw blood, too, he said to check my blood count.
I'm going to ask him to do a CA125 test, because I just "feel" sick. Am I taking the correct route and did anyone else have these symptoms? |

Yes, yes, yes!! The fluid and the weight gain are some of the only recognizable symptoms from one case to another. If you didn't have a CA125 test, do it ASAP!

endometrial biopsy came back. No cancer there.
The cyst symptoms have gotten worse. I had another cyst rupture and the fluid is still just in my sitting in my abdomen. The swelling has gone down a lot since the last rupture, but my period has gotten worse. Clots are big and often. I've been back to the dr 2x's since my first post.
He is going to remove my right ovary if we can't get the cyst under control. This is what I'm pushing for because I want to be sure I don't have OC.
He won't do a CA125 because IHO, it's just better used on someone who has had cancer before. He said it gives a lot of false positives.

Wow. Is there anyone else you can talk to?? It sounds like he is brushing you off almost. I have a CA 125 every three weeks following chemo. I had two of them in the hospital while they were diagnosing it. True, it does represent gastro cancers too, but combined with a CT scan, it's a pretty sure diagnosis when CA125 is present and there's a mass on the ovary. At least this is what my doctors told me. I'm a high school English teacher, not a doctor, but that's how my treatment has been working.
I hope you get some answers and some relief soon. _________________ Forget regret - or life is yours to miss. -Rent |
