Hi I just found out that my girlfriend who is 17 has lung cancer! They didn't give her many details. They determinened this by doing some blood work. I saw that you need to have an x-ray or CT scan to determine it. I couldn't find anything about it being diagnoised by blood work. They did some blood work at first and said she might have cancer and they did some more and found out she did. I am confused and scared. Has this happened to anyone before? She is only 17, what is the prognosis? please help me.

You might want to see if the "blood work" was actually a biopsy. My cancer was first seen in a lymph node biopsy. MRI and CAT scans are part of the normal treatment for cancer. Being and informed patient is her responsbility. You want answers..you have to ask questions.
