So i have a small pea size lump on my jaw... I saw a dentistin march "when i had health/dentist insurance" and it wasnt there or noticed. I used to use smokeless tobacco and now i have a lump on my jaw far underneath my gum line where i used to place my snuff. I dont qualify for low cost publically funded health care becuase my wife makes too much money.{as of 4 months} Razz

Anyways i want to get it checked out but not only am i not on her works insurance i cannot be added for another 3 months we planned on moving out of Texas to WA in a month and a half. Anyways I know if this turns out to be cancer i wont be able to get health insurance. Can anyone recommend a decent individual multi state insurance plan.

Am i going about this the wrong way "I noticed this thing about 3 weeks ago" and no matter what i cant percieve waiting more than another month before seeking diagnosis insurance or not. ...i know its faiurly open ended but anyone have any advice.

I know it's been a really long time since you posted this message (meaning you got discouraged by the lack of replies and left the forum, most likely - sorry!).

...but a friend of mine had something similar (a lump on his jaw, same shape and size) and it was because of an abscessed tooth. He'd had a filling years ago, and they packed the amalgam in too tightly, killing the nerve gradually, and it got infected. He needed to get a root canal.

But it wasn't cancer.

Just figured anyone else who happened upon this thread with a similar problem would like to know that!

I heard of something similar to that happening too.

I mean, an abscessed tooth and a root canal aren't pleasant, but they sure beat cancer.
