My dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer last December. It was locally advanced i.e. surgery wasn't an option but it didn't spread to other organs. After a session of chemo and radiation the cancer spread to his liver in the form of four spots. So the doctor prescribed Xeloda. His last cat scan showed the tumor shrunk and the four spots on his liver was down to one. But recently bumps began to grow on my dad's body and he's still getting new ones. He had a biopsy which revealed the bumps to be cancerous -- so apparently the cancer has spread. The bumps perplex the doctor because my dad is his first pancreatic cancer patient who has these bumps. Unfortunately he has no treatments left and clinical trials don't sound promising. So we just wait. Another thing that perplexes us is my dad's recent cancer blood marker was down to seven. This disease is very frustrating

I'm researching for alternative treatments, vaccines (just checked the info on John Hopkins) and other treatment info. If anyone has info or can direct me somewhere. Please post. Thanks.

My elder brother was diagnosed with colorectal cancer mid November last. He was at stage I and had to undergo chemo and sessions of radiation at this hospital http://www.jdhealthcare.com/colorectal.html as well. He was prescribed Xeloda, http://www.drugdelivery.ca/s3673-s-XELODA.aspx as treatment. His condition is rather stable now but the doctors are keeping closer look on him, to see if there is any growth.
Surgery is an option but it is recommended only in advanced stages.
Have you heard of immunotherapy?
