Hi this is my first time to this site and its very scary. My son turned 19 in December 2005, 19th January 2006, we were told he has lung cancer(Metastatic Adencarcinoma), we got such a shock as he never smoked and neither do i. We have had 3 lots of chemo treatment but to no avail. We wen't on a trial drug called Tarceva this also did not help. Now he has gone into Palliative Care and in the morning he goes in to hosiptial to have his lung drain as one is collapsed. We have had this done before however to no avail. We are told this is a rare cancer for such a young person to have. However why can't we seem to find out anything in regard to help save him. We had the doctors tell us there is nothing else thay can do for him. I can't live with that. If any one can shead some light as to any ideas or been through this please advise as to what im i to say to him.

Kind regards

Mum

You should get a second opinion immediately. What hospital is your son affiliated with? You definitely need an aggressive comprehensive cancer center. Not one that gives up so easily. Where do you live?

Hi, I am sorry to hear about your son. My father , a non smoker , was diagonsed of the same cancer as your son's in April 2006. He died on Aug 10th. We were told chemo would cause pain and unnecessary suffering. His was a very advanced stage but, in Kerala India, there is a Doctor (Allopathy) who treats cancer using Ayurvedic medicine. It did not help my father but did provide relief in many ways. He did not become weak as people usually do in this desease.
