Thank you in advance.
Back in April of 06 I started to get a pain in my groin. Kind of like when you are kicked there. Not the initial kick butt the dull(make you want to throw up pain) that comes after words. Eventually, it became a sharp pain that lasted a lot of the day on and off. I went to the doctors who order blood work and a ultrasound. Blood work came back fine, ultra sound ruled out hernia, epidimitis, torsion, but did say that I had calcification and two swollen lymph nodes (small). The doctor told me the pain was from the swollen lymph nodes and put me on an antibiotic......which did nothing.
2 weeks ago I noticed a swollen lymph node on my neck, behind my jaw under my ear. Went to the doctors who checked and found one in my armpit also. Orderd blood work which came back normal (thyroid check), He was going to order a ct scan until I told him I have no insurance. So he did another round of antibiotics...nothing.
In the meantime I developed more swollen nodes on the other side of my neck, other armpit, and one on my collar bone. Went back to the doctor who said it might be Lymphoma but he is not worried because they are not bigger than 2 centimeters.
Lastly, have been fatigued since May 06, headaches, slight dizziness, sore neck & shoulders, occationally slight chest pain & upper abdominal pain, constipation, and still pain in my groin.
I apologize for the length of this post but I really need some advice....I understand none of you are doctors but sometimes a persons personal experiences are better than a pill pushing doctor's wait and see mentality!
Which by the way is his latest idea.....come back in a month to see if they are larger or you develop more symptoms. |

Considering how many different locations you have enlarged lymph nodes in, I'd normally suggest you have CT scans and/or a biopsy done. Where you don't have ins. though, I know it's got to be tough. Is there any way you could qualify for Medicaid, Medicare or an inexpensive state health plan? _________________ Trudi, wife of Bruce (dx 2/86, stage 4 follicular small-cleaved cell NHL) |

HI,
my name is Jim, ive had lymphoma for 23yrs,started age 17, How old are you, if you dont mind me asking?
Man, i had the same things going on with me, so i know what your going through, except i didnt notice the lumps under my armpits and in my neck i was too worried about the ones in my groin and the size of my stomach.
You need to be checked out YESTERDAY, c.t. scans etc etc ,
Im in Australia and as soon as you are diognosed with a cancer you go straight onto a Govt benefit, or a disability pension.i sure do pitty you Americans with no private cover,Hell man what do they expect you to do? go crawl away and die somewhere out of sight,to hell with that.
You really do need to be seen by someone who gives a damn though man,it dont sound good.
Are you having night sweats, lost weight, etc? _________________ JIMJIM |
